Making Fairy Cottages

You can make your own fairie home out of any non metal container actually!

This website may have been mentioned here already, but in case you guys didnt see it, here's the link:

www.miniature-gardens.com/attract-fairies.html

Some of the miniature things they sell are really cheap. They also sell fairie and elf doors you can prop up to a tree. I guess it's like a portal for the fairies.. or else fairies notice them and get a kick out of them.., especially if you place them in your indoor or outdoor garden.

I saw a photo of one of the fairy doors in the fairygardens.com website of someone submitted. They said that they noticed a blue light flying around where they decorated one night., and it seemed to be interested in the miniature door.

The stuff is really cute! check it out!

Now, if you want to make your own little cottages for the Fae folks, You can use any shell ... I use plastic houseplant containers.. square or cylinder ones of any size.

Cut out a little entrance, and a little window near the top if you'd like

Get a glue gun and heat it up.. and gather all the things you want to cover it with.. and these should be all non-metal objects. That is very important as Nature Spirits don't feel comfortable around metal above ground.. the fairies in the city areas will tolerate it, but they don't love it.

Some of the things you can glue all over the container are: Pinecones, twigs, pretty leaves. dried mosses of all kinds (perfect for filling in the little gaps that need to be covered) seashells, colored glass marbles or florist marbels, semi-precious stones or any stone, maple seedlings (those helicopter propellor-like things that fall from the Maple trees), acorn caps, bark pieces, feathers, etc.

If you can't find these things in your area, you can pick up that all natural pot pourri they sell in craft stores or TJ Maxx, etc., that are all scented pinecones, seed pods, etc.. that people buy to put in bowls in thier homes.. You can buy that and glue them on your home if you live in a city area with little or no wildlife or trees . Even buy a container of seashells, and glue the shells all over the container.. THe seashell fairy cottage looks gourgeous after you get it done!

P.S. If you live in the city and can't have a garden, you can grow houseplants or other plants in pots inside with those grow lights. Terrariums are another idea., and you can add polished stones here and there on the table, and other natural things. That's one way of attracting them in, I heard. Keep metal away from your garden area though.

I just wanted to let you guys know this..

My elderly friend, Sophia, lives by herself in a little high-rise apartment with some houseplants.. She has a little fairy home there-that she placed right near the plants.
Sophia is very energy sensitive and could sense the fairies hanging out in the fairy cabins I bought at a holistic fair that she and I went to.

Well to make a long story short, she has a new little fairy home near her houseplants that she invited the fairies to check out-- and she's been noticing that all the houseplants on the side of the table where the fairy home is are (all of a sudden) growing very very large compared to the other plants..

She also noticed that some of the ivy type houseplants are changing direction and moving thier vines over to the fairy house-- and forming a sort of "arbor" around the house.,--as if the plants have a mind of thier own.

They were not doing this before the fairy home was there-- She started noticing this a few weeks after she put the little home there for the fairies.

I think they are enjoying the home and are having fun with the houseplants -- while also taking great care of them!

I made some really nice Nature Guardian cottages this weekend for the Nature Spirits to enjoy as little comfort zones- especially during the Winter months.

I try to keep them in areas away from the chaos of the household and dog-- away from electrical magnetic interference stuff , like televisions, and satellite dishes --and especially away from an HD television..- something I don't have nor desire, because HD TV's are worse than regular televisions in regard to electrical magnetic "chaos".

These Nature beings are far more sensitive to this energy than humans are, and it is actually bad for humans and animals in the first place.

Anyways, My mother picked up two nylon bags of seashells at a dollar store for only 50 cents a bag on clearance., and I knew something good would come of them, but wasn't sure what it was. Then it occurred to me to make a Seashell covered Fae Cottage. All you have to do is get either a plastic or fiber houseplant pot-- or one of those press board berry containers. Cut an entranceway at the base.

Glue gun all the seashells on all sides of the container and use your imagination, making the entrance way attractive.

After I glue-gunned all my 50 cents seashells, I had 6 seashells left over and was going to put them away when it occured to me to make seashell chairs and a "cot" to place inside the shell cottage. The shell cot I filled up with soft reindeer moss and placed the shells in a circle inside the little cottage.

It looks adorable, yet the purpose is more than that. I want to do something for these Beings that do so much for Earth and all of us-- and who love Nature more than humans who are slowly taking it away from them!

hi! Well, these are made from plastic houseplant containers or berry containers., and a few are made from really large houseplant containers.

There are many types of these Beings-- some are large, some are 1-2 feet tall (gnomes , or elf like beings)
and some are really small. They do shapeshift into other forms, but often like to move about in small form, and will appreciate these little "nature guardian cottages" as a temporary hangout in their travels-- especially in a home.

If you place them outside, they may also lead animals in there for protection -- (frogs, etc), especially if you live in an area where alot of the animals natural habitat has been taken from them in place of concrete and stripmalls.

I just made one tonight that I placed under our forsythia bush. It doubles as a frog shelter!

Good luck, and have fun making them. They do look beautiful :-)
